n our daily walks around Greystones, the one thing that has always strikes myself and Max every summer is the bloomin’ beauty all over this town of ours.
Whether it’s taking a shortcut through Castle Villas or shuffling through Pig’s Hollow, or whether it’s taking the long road home through Redford Park , where’er you go, there’s always at least one garden that just leaps out from all the others.
The fact that, like style, class and real beauty, a stunning garden is really something money just can’t buy – it takes time, effort, and green-tinted vision – makes these wonderful creations all the more impressive.
One garden that always makes me turn GG’s head – and Max cock his leg – is right at the entrance to Bellevue Park, and today, seeing the happy-go-mucky lady behind this little strip of paradise hard at work tidying up the edges of the footpath outside, we decided to stop by for a chat.
As is so very often the case in Greystones, a simple conversation soon took on layers of family, funny moments, friends, fond memories and farewells.
The more we talked with the amazing Noreen Talbot – who, incredibly, is a sprightly 86 – the more we realised that to truly blossom, first and foremost, you need deep roots…
