Local Area Plans for Greystones-Delgany and Kilcoole
The Greystones-Delgany Local Area Plan (2006-2012) and Kilcoole Local Area Plan (2008-2014) are Wicklow County Council policy documents that set out the planning and development frameworks for these settlements and address issues such as land zoning, infrastructure, community facilities and environmental protection.
As the current plan for the Greystones – Delgany area will expire at the end of this year, Wicklow County Council intends to start the process of drawing up the new plan for this area for the period 2013 – 2019.
Even though the Kilcoole plan has another two years to run, the Council are considering whether there would be benefits in reviewing the Kilcoole plan now ahead of schedule and preparing a single plan for the wider area which would include all areas encompassed in the two existing plans.
Wicklow County Council is hereby inviting the public to put forward their views on:

the question as to whether, or not, a single plan should be prepared,
-
the planning and development issues that are affecting the Greystones – Delgany and the Kilcoole areas, and
-
what kind of issues that you would like to see addressed in any new plan.
After the completion of this public consultation, a decision will be taken whether the new plan to be prepared will be for the area Greystones-Delgany only or for the wider area of Greystones – Delgany and Kilcoole. All submissions lodged within the timeframe detailed below will be taken into consideration during the preparation of the new plan.
In order to help you formulate your suggestions, an ‘Issues Booklet’ is available for viewing on the Wicklow County Council website www.wicklow.ie or in Wicklow County Council Offices, Wicklow Town, in Greystones Town Council Offices and in Greystones Public Library.
Public open days, when staff from the plan-making team will be available to answer questions and to assist in making a submission, will be held as follows:

The Parish Centre (beside the Scout Den), Kilcoole on Wednesday 13th June 2012 from 3.00pm-5.00pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm.

Greystones Town Council offices, Mill Road, Greystones on Thursday 14th June 2012 from 3.00pm-5.00pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm.
Submissions may be made in writing from Tuesday 5th June 2012 to Tuesday 3rd July 2012.
