With one of the most contagious and conspiratorial smiles in Greystones, the multi-talented all-rounder – and all-round good guy – Jody Connaughton has managed to make himself a major part of this town in a relatively short time.
Having arrived here fresh off the boat in 1996 (we’re not quite sure from where, but we reckon it’s either Peru or Xanadu), Jody quickly established himself as not only a fun and very fine neighbour but also a cracking photographer.
And a handy IT wizard. And a leader of artists, being the brains and much of the brawn behind GRAPE – aka The Greystones Art & Photography Exhibition – and The Creation Room, the latter an umbrella outlet for our town’s finest artists and their works.
As for Jody’s sterling work in the UN, his self-funded Home For Orphaned Frogs, and his secret nighttime existence on our streets as The Grey Crusader, well, the man told us not to mention any of that. So, we won’t.
