With a number north of 300 rising bright and early this fine Saturday morning for the latest Swimrise, it would appear that The Happy Pear have started a new Greystones tradition.
Having ventured down at 4am to fill the hot tub and get her lit, the Flynn twins are nothing if not dedicated to the cause too.
What that cause is, exactly, is hard to determine, but any reason for people to come together to do something silly has got to be encouraged in this world.
When it came to filling that hot tub at 4am, the guys were lucky enough to get a little help from Ciaran Hayden and co, as the fire truck had that baby overflowing in minutes. It would have taken Chickpea and Chong at least four hours with their buckets and spades.
We somehow didn’t make it down to watch the sun rise whilst freezing our knackers off, but, luckily, young Gerard Caffrey was the man with the camera this morning, capturing all those beautiful, selfie-centred people with love in their hearts and a ravenous social media habit to feed.
