There was such a happy feeling down at the Hillside Church this afternoon as the town’s first-ever autism summer camp began to wind up its week.
Everywhere you looked, smiling kids, playing football, rowing a boat in the middle of the floor, or just chilling out in the sensory room.
And, best of all, they were each dressed like the superheroes that they are, with Spider-Mans, Supermans and Wonder Womans all running wild.
Talking of wonder women, we managed to grab five minutes with a very busy Aisling Foran from Triple A Wicklow – the organisers of this fine new summer camp – to find out more. Standing alongside, her trusty sidekick (and son) Odhran, Robin to Aisling’s, eh, Batwoman.
Naturally, our video chat got cut short by the sudden arrival of some superheroes needing help on saving the planet…
