his year’s King Of Greystones will bring out the strong-willed and the goodhearted once again.
Taking place on Sunday, July 25th, this annual triathlon always pushes your average and not-so-average Greystonian to the limit.
And sure, when you’re dealing with someone like Lisa Howley – seen above with her trusty sidekick, Rio – you get the impression that she wouldn’t want it any other way. Given that the King Of Greystones is all about raising money for The Gavin Glynn Foundation, Lisa has taken their one-day showdown a little further.
“To mark my upcoming 21st anniversary of my 29th birthday,” she quips, “I’ve taken on a 50-day challenge to raise funds for the foundation. Which means I’ll be doing 50 runs and 50 swims over 50 consecutive days. And I’ve got Mark Barry and Kevin Marshall taking it on too.
“Along with Rio, of course…”
Already edging towards the 40th day, the trio have run over 650k and swam over 100k.
YOWSA!
