What is it about that wide, open stretch of Charlesland Road that causes motorists to lose their concentration…?
Following a fatal accident at almost the exact same spot in May, this afternoon, at 3.10pm, two cars collided, roughly halfway between the Charlesland estates and Kilcoole roundabouts.
Just the two cars were involved, with six people between them (including two children), with one of the two cars ending up on its roof.
Thankfully, everyone managed to limp away with little more than shock and bruises. At least, that’s what the early reports coming through suggest.
If we hear any more, we’ll let you know, but, suffice to say, we hope it is just car and ego damage. Especially at a time like Christmas.
And just to reiterate how easy it is to lose that concentration, within half-an-hour of this accident being cleared, another accident. This time, at Delgany Wood, when a motorbiker lost control and is now in hospital.
Suffice to say, with New Year’s Eve just about upon us, drive safely, kids.
