There’s probably a simple explanation for it, but, to be honest, we can’t actually think of one…

Heading down Church Lane, GG stumbled across an envelope, ripped open, the home insurance details inside relating to Camaderry House on Whitshed Road.

Nothing of importance, just a quote, so, thinking it must have somehow fallen from a waste disposal truck, we popped the letter into that big belly solar bin just outside St Patrick’s Church.

Almost immediately afterwards, we spotted another envelope, again addressed to Camaderry House on Whitshed Road, and this one – an eir bill, apparently – was unopened, if somewhat tramp-stamped by car tires.

That Camaderry House is the home of former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean Fitzpatrick – cleared in May 2017, after a record-breaking 126-day trial, of 27 charges under the 1990 Companies Act – makes you wonder just how, and why, his post ended up scattered on a road at the far side of town.

Currently residing elsewhere, the local gardaí are keeping an eye on the Fitzpatrick family home, but, we’re told, they haven’t witnessed anything suspicious of late. So, they advised GG to simply pop the letter into the nearest postbox.

So, that’s sorted then. Nothing strange going on here. Phew.
