There were plenty of wide-eyed winners looking to the skies last night as the Éire Óg gang hosted their annual Dinner & A Gong love-in.

One of the town’s longest-running institutions – gotta be over 10 years now, right? – Éire Óg’s deep history was represented by the bright young things of tomorrow and the stars of yesteryear.

Such as the certifiable local legend that is Patsy Vickers.

The big winners on the night were:

Junior Football Club Person Of The Year Kenny Naughton
Junior Football Player Of The Year Dominic Blake
Junior Hurling Club Person Of The Year Jim Kinsella
Junior Hurling Player of Year Mick Burns
Camogie Club Person Of The Year Christine Earls
Camogie Player Of The Year Grainne Megannaty
Senior Hurling Players’ Player Kristin ‘Buster’ Flynn (collected by Peter Keane)
Senior Hurling Player Of The Year Daniel ‘Doc’ O’Connor
Senior Football Player Of The Year Daniel Keane (collected by Peter Keane)
Senior Football Club Person Of The Year Dominic O’Brien
U20 Club Person Of The Year Eoin Mctague
U20 Player Of The Year Fintan O’Shea
Ladies Football Club Person Of The Year Ciara Doyle.
Ladies Football Player Of The Year Katie Lawless
Éire Óg Greystones GAA Club Person Of The Year Daniel ‘Doc’ O’Connor

Big thanks to John McGowan for giving his Saturday night over to these reprobates.
