Greystones Archaeological and Historical Society has joined forces with the La Touche Legacy committee to compile an information pack which will be distributed free of charge as a Christmas gift to local primary and secondary schools.
The pack consists of a number of publications relating to local history, including the Society’s latest journal, Vol. 8, alongside its previous offering, Vol. 7, whilst the three recent collaborations between the two organisations – Greystones: It’s Buildings And History, Vols 1 and 2, plus the Trails Of Greystones walking maps – will also feature.
Prompted by a number of queries from teachers and individual pupils, it is hoped that the contents of the gift packs will serve as an essential starting point for researching various aspects of local history amongst young students, and both organisations have expressed their readiness to be of service to anyone seeking assistance in this area.
