t’s been a while since they last got a fresh lick of paint…
And rather than wait until the Summer Project was back up and sunning, ex-committee members and friends decided it was high time they brought some colour back to the South Beach.
Namely, the pavement paintings that feature all sorts of games for kids to play – including hopscotch, snakes and ladders and whatever that roulette thingy is for.
Are Greystones minors allowed to gamble…?
Those pulling up their sleeves and getting paint marks all over their clothes and hair are (from the left) Eithne O’Riordan, Dee Fitzsimons, Éilis O’Driscoll, Bairbre Murphy, Margaret Duffy, Clare Casey, Mary Killilea and Bernie O’Broin.
And the ladies were very keen to point out that all the lovely paint for the job came courtesy of Liam Dunne from Concept Painting Premium.
A community non-profit summer camp for children run by volunteer parents and teachers, the 37-year-old Greystones Summer Project hasn’t run for the past few years – but its spirit clearly lives on.
Here’s hoping the gang will be back in action in 2022…
