ith those good people at The Whale always plotting new ways to bring a fun night out to Greystones, tonight, hey, they rocked us again.
Which isn’t all that surprising, given that Greystones Outdoor Cinema has proven to be a highlight of every summer for the last few years.
After outdoor screenings of everything from Grease to Jaws, from Some Like It Hot to The Shining, this year’s big beach blockbuster was the Oscar-winning Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. And it made for a fandangadoozy of a night!
Yep, the four-time Oscar-winning singalong prove to be a perfect for a Saturday night, on a beach, in June, in Greystones. And given that admission, as always, was just €5, and tickets were limited to 400, this was one happy crowd of beach bums.Â
Naturally, you got a lot of bang for your buck alongside seeing one of the most popular movies of the year up on the big screen and under the stars. There was also free 99s on the night, along with free Freddie moustaches, crowns, beach balls and popcorn.
SCARAMOUCHE!
How could it not be a night to remember? And if you listen carefully, you can still hear the dawn chorus ring out over Greystones. “Mama, just killed a man…”
