Don’t think anyone but the offending eejits will be upset by a massive increase in the fine for parking in a disabled spot without a valid permit.
In effect from March 1st, 2018, the fines are jumping from €80 to €150.
Which, if my Masters Degree in Sums has thought me anything, is very nearly double.
The Minister For Transport, Tourism And Sport, Shane Ross, recently announced the increase, with that €150 fine standing for the first 28 days, then going up to €225 for the next 28 days, and a summons being issued if it hasn’t been paid within 56 days.
Luckily, there are no dumbass parkers in Greystones. Fact.
Still, there’s a party around at the Kennedy sisters’ tonight, to celebrate. Bring your own beer. And cheer.
