oly, that was one stupidly busy Greystones weekend, with everyone from the sailing club to the bingo brigade having a big day out.
And as The Plaza Market wrapped up for the summer, there was one final Family Fun Day happening on the other side of town too.
Namely, Farrankelly, with treats and games aplenty, and quite a lot of tea agus gossip too.
We actually hadn’t heard a word about today’s big shindig, but then again, with Kindlestown Park having its Kids Fun Day yesterday and Kenmare Heights its Family Fun Day last Sunday, sure, it’s all becoming a bit of a Damon Albarn & co here at GG HQ.
The organisers want to thank sponsors Michael O’Rourke Cabs, Ray’s Cabs, Philip Neiland Tiling & Bathrooms, Debbie Neiland Organic Hair Studio, Minister Simon Harris, John Brady TD, Cllr Stephen Stokes and Cllr Gerry Walsh.
Also helping out the big day were donations from Henry & Rose, Kilcoole, Centra Eden Gate, Centra Kilcoole, SuperValu Greystones, SuperValu Charlesland, Kilcoole Pharmacy, Village Stores, Freddie Hamilton, The Grove Bar, Zoom Adventure, Glenroe Farm, Farrelly’s, Gerry Mitchell, MacSherry’s Pharmacy, Ciaran Hayden’s Bouncy Castle, plus White Doodle for the fantastic face painting, Garda Molly Colbert for the craic, and Declan Hogan for the music.
The man on top of it all though is, as always, John McGowan, who captured all the buns agus games…
