As the fundraising campaign to build a new state-of-the-art, top-of-the-range, oven-ready, Grade-A playground in Greystones gathers momentum, the organisers have come up with a clever way to chart their progress.
A dirty great big fundraiser barometer on Greystones’ main street.
Stuck on the side of Phoenix Travel, this handy bit of Blue Peter construction reveals that the town has already managed to raise over €25,000 towards this much-needed facility, which will replace the occasionally water-logged playgrounddown by the South Beach.
Among the many cool fundraising ideas, one of GG’s personal favourites is giving people the opportunity to have their names – or those of their loved ones – added to afundraising Thank You wallthat will form a permanent part of the new playground.
With the grand total of €100,000 looming large, there will be plenty more fundraising done throughout the year – the hope being, the town will reach its goal before 2018 comes knocking.
