ith Bressie and Louize Carroll having addressed a sell-out crowd in September, the latest Nurturing Minds workshops have just been announced.

Organised by It Takes A Village and conducted by Social Fabric podcaster Andrea Splendori, these workshops are designed to addressed the fast-changing world faced by our children.

And that means reaching out and helping their equally-perplexed parents too.

On Thursday, October 19th at 7.30pm at St Brigid’s National School, the guests were Ian Power, CEO of youth information and support platform Spunout, and local do-gooder Alice O’Donnell, the duo joining Andrea to talk about Fostering Relationships and Making Connections.

On November 23rd, it’s St Patrick’s National School, again at 7.30pm, with special guest Jane McGarrigle from Webwise, an Irish internet safety centre, discussing the topic Digital Literacy And What To Look Out For.

With the help of a youth advisory panel, McGarrigle will be sharing the pros and cons of technology and how to ensure children’s safety online.

“As it’s the last workshop of the year,” says ITAV founder Rachel Harper, “there will be a festive theme to the evening with the chance to chat and mingle over refreshments.”
