icklow County Council have just announced funding for 21 walking trails in County Wicklow.

Under the initiative, grants of €1,000 – €3,000 will be provided to 175 community groups responsible for managing the trails throughout rural Ireland.
County Wicklow received a total funding of €46,400, spread across 21 trails.
The groups will be able to use the grant to maintain and improve their local trail and promote its use to visitors.
Among the Wicklow trails to get a little maintenance moolah, Kilcoole’s Ballydonarea Loop and the Sugar Loaf Way get €1,000 each, whilst the Bray Head Loop Walk gets €2,800.
Those Wicklow walks receiving €1,000 are The Lacken Mass Path, the Avoca Red Kite Loop, the Tinahely Railway Walk, the Sugar Loaf Way, the Ballydonarea Loop, the Arklow Loops Kynoch Walk, Arklow Loops Love Lane Walk and the Arklow Loops South Beach Walk. Those receving €2,800 are the Kyle Loop, Mangan’s Loop and the Ballycumber Loop, all in Tinahely, the Blessington Greenway, the Belmont Way, the Bray Head Loop Walk, the Rathdrum Jubilee Loop, Avonmore Way, Arklow Loops Town Walk, Arklow Loops Glenart Walk, Arklow Loops South Beach Walk, Arklow Loops Monument Walk and Glenmalure’s Miners’ Way, whilst the Tinahely Loop is getting €3,000. Because they’re worth it.
