Running Up That HillNovember 26, 2018
Take a look around you and you’ll soon realise that art is everywhere, man…
It’s in how you laid out the table, the colours you chose to wear today, even in the way you simply sign your name.
It’s that kind of instinctive inner artistic life of every single one of us – Telford Evans excepted, of course – that the Greystones Art Group are interested in helping to bring forth. And multiply the sense of release, and joy, that your hidden Picasso is grasping and gasping to unleash. Which would explain the indigestion.
Established way back in 1965 – making it one of Ireland’s longest-running art groups – the gang meet every Monday morning at SoBe, from 10am to 1pm, and are looking for new members right now.
Here’s the lowdown…
The group has a variety of events throughout the month, each Monday they meet to paint, sketch, create and share inspiration. A new location is selected monthly for outdoor sketching and painting, there are also monthly talks and demonstrations by guest artists. The talks include techniques and suggestions relating to medium, composition, colour mixing and brushwork in a fun and friendly environment. There is a small fee of €5 for non-members.
This year Greystones Art Group will participate in three exhibitions. The main event, the Annual Art Exhibition, takes place in Spring and will preview the diverse works from the members of the art group. This event will also include the Side Exhibition. For the first time Greystones Art Group will hold an exhibition in Signal Art Gallery Bray in May 2019.
Anyone who may be interested is invited to come along any Monday morning, South Beach Pavilion, Charlesland Golf and Country Club, from 10am to 1pm, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
