‘Twas a grand day out at the RDS yesterday for Greystones U12s rugby team when they took part in the big Leinster vs Ulster match.
With 7-year-old Harry McGeehan [above, with his chuffed family] chosen as one of the mascots for the day, the young team were able to show the big boys a thing or two about rugby during the half-time games.
Also playing on the day were Terenure RFC, Newbridge RFC and Boyne RFC, and it was plainly a big thrill for each and everyone of these young men to be in the presence of Greystones RFC.
It was proud mum Siobhan Harding who gave us a shout-out about the boys’ big day out, and we both endeavoured to get a full list of the Greystones players on the day from the local rugby club.
We’re still waiting. The club says they can’t name the players because of data protection. Also, they don’t know how to use email.
In the meantime, here are some fab agus groovy shots, courtesy of Ramsey Cardy at Sportsfile and BOI Students.
Well done to all the lads on the day. Except for the Casey lad. You even dropped your orange at half time.
