We live in a time, after all, when pretty much everyone is walking around with a camera in their pocket, and it means that those magical moments – where the light hits beauty just right, and just so – are being captured more and more.
With this in mind, we thought it was about time that we launched an annual Greystones photography competition.
Open to all ages, the theme of Greystones Rocks is, as you might have guessed, the town we live in, but we’re not limiting entries here to just landscapes and sunrises. We’re looking for a shot that captures the true essence of Greystones, whether that’s a landmark, a person, or just a moment caught in time.
Running throughout the month of September – when that autumn sun starts casting long, luscious shadows – young Keeley and McGowan will be among the judges, but we’ll also be taking into consideration the public vote below. Just let us know your favourite in the comments section.
We’re lucky enough to have the groovy Marina Village and Bridgedale on as sponsors – so, this time out, there’s even going to be a kick-ass prize. We just have to, you know, go figure out what that might be.
In the meantime, get happy snapping. For 2018, that is. The inaugural 2017 competition is now closed, with the glorious winner being The Perfect Storm by Michal Bailis, below, who just made it under our three-year time limit. Congrats, young Michal!
