It’s that time of year again, when the sun splits the sky, and our kids face into months and months of having no particular place to go.

To go with all the months and months of lockdown, which left them with no particular place to go.

So, if you want to make sure that this summertime, your living is easy, check out our extensive round-up of groovy summer camps hitting town over the coming months.

As always, this list will continue to grow as the sun gets higher and higher in the sky – so, come back, y’all, if you don’t quite find what you’re looking for first time round. Heck, both Squirrel Scramble and The Cool Food School sold out their summer camps in a matter of hours.

Happening today and tomorrow at the Dalkey quarry, Triple A Alliance have teamed up with Tusla and to offer kids on the spectrum a chance to try some rock climbing and some abseiling. Taking place from 10am to 12.30pm, and aimed at kids from 12 to 17, it’s just €10 for this morning session. Email to book your spot.

Talking of football, you can win a free spot on the FAI’S sold-out Aug 10th-14th summer camp for 6-to-14-year-olds, courtesy of Greystones United AFC’s groovy competition. Details right about here.

If your kid likes the numbers game, but also numbers and games, hey, the Mathletics Summer Camp will be right up their algebra. Aimed at 6-to-12-year-olds, and running from 10am to 2pm daily, the Mathletics 4 Schools Summer Camps take place at the Bray’s Wolftone Sports Hall from July 20th to 24th, 27th to 31st, August 4th to 7th [a four-day camp] and August 10th to 14th; the Rathnew Soccer Club from July 13th to 17th, 20th to 24th and 27th to 31st, and the Arklow Rocks Parnell GAA Club from August 4th to 7th [four-day camp] and 10th to 14th. For a different kind of summer camp, Little Lingua have lined up three fun and interactive online classes in Irish, Spanish and French. Or, as they’re better known, Céili Day, A Fiesta In Spain and Camping In France. For a different kind of summer camp, there’s a week-long sci-fi writing workshop courtesy of Greystones Library that should get those out-of-this-world juices flowing. Aimed at young writers between the ages of 8 and 12, and running from July 27th to 31st, Dublin author Maeve ‘Are We Not Men? No, We Are’ Devoy will be inviting budding young sci-fi writers to create stories of time travel, aliens and adventures around the theme Oh My It’s 3005. Book your free spot by emailing

When it comes to speaking in foreign tongues, there’s also Georgia Gallagher’s award-winning Greystones Languages For Children, whose current summer line-up is Jnr/Snr Infants: Tues 2pm-2.45pm and 1st/2nd/3rd class: Tues 3pm-3.45pm. Class dates are July 14th, 21st and 28th, and August 4th. For 4th/5th/6th class, it’s Weds from 12pm to 12.45pm, with class dates being July 15th, 22nd and 29th, plus August 5th. Running over three July Wednesdays, the loveable, huggable Greystones Family Resource gang have put together a trio of free groovy summer camps – a Silent Disco on the 15th, a Scavenger Hunt on the 22nd and a Sports Day on the 29th. Sharon and Jamie over at Sugarloaf Gymnastics are delighted to be back on the beam, and have some fun camps running weekly for 5-years-plus, running from 11am to 1pm Monday to Friday, starting on July 20th. More goodies will be added over the coming weeks, so, you know, watch this space.

Down at Greystones United AFC, they’ve got two summer camps on offer. Their own 5-day camp runs from Monday, August 24th to Friday 28th, from 10.30am to 2.30pm daily. It’s €65 for the full five days, with €60 for siblings booking at the same time. Also, from Monday 10th to Friday 14th, the FAI are in town with their summer school offering, also joining Greystones Sporting FC up at the Dr Ryan Park from Monday 3rd to 7th.
