Saturday April 23rd 11am Storytime with Trish and Sarah Yep, the Halfway Up The Stairs gang are launching the new storytime series with a little love-in of their own. Tickets are just €2, and they’re redeemable against any book.
Saturday April 30th 2022 11am Storytime with Mary Murphy, author & illustrator of Chirp and many more books Mary is a very well known picture book maker. Her latest book, Chirp, a celebration of the dawn chorus, is published by Walker Books. Tickets to the event are €3 per child (redeemable against any of Mary’s books) and are available in store or online here.
Saturday May 7th 2022 11am Storytime with Bob Johnston & Michael Emberley Bob Johnston is the owner of The Gutter Bookshop (two shops, in Temple Bar and Dalkey), whilst Michael Emberley is a renowned illustrator, who lived in Greystones up to a few years ago. Our Big Day is a celebration of love, family and weddings and is a gentle introduction for children to the idea of same-sex partnerships and marriage equality. Tickets to the event are €3 per child (redeemable against Our Big Day) and are available in store or online here.
Saturday May 14th 2022 2pm-4pm Cookery demonstration with Deirdre Doyle from The Cool Food School Deirdre lives in Greystones and runs The Cool Food School. This is her first book and will be published by O’Brien Press in May and it is a clear, informative cookbook for children, with clear photographs by Joanne Murphy. It can be preordered here. This event is taking place outside the shop, as The Cool Food School celebrates the release of Chop, Cook, Yum. Not to be confused with the Hannibal Lecter autobiography of the same name. Tickets are €3 – redeemable against Deirdre’s book – and are available instore or online here.
