Press release issued by Simon Harris TD on Friday, June 3rd 2016.
Let’s hear it for Wicklow LEO…
Wicklow Fine Gael TD and Minister for Health Simon Harris has welcomed the creation of 74 local jobs by the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) in Wicklow during 2015.
The 31 LEOs throughout Ireland provide a ‘first stop shop’ for supports and signposting to start-ups, micro enterprises and small businesses nationwide in one easily accessible place. Commenting on the 2015 results, Minister Harris stated: “The creation of 74 jobs through our Local Enterprise Office here in Wicklow shows that we are on the right track in terms of assisting local businesses and creating employment in towns and villages.
“I want to ensure that we build on this in 2016 through the rollout of our Regional Action Plan for Jobs, which will put an emphasis on our key sectors here in Wicklow. I would like to commend the hard work of the businesses which have brought about these additional 74 jobs in Wicklow. I would also like to pay tribute to the dedicated staff of Wicklow LEO who are always looking at new ways to foster growth in local businesses.
“We have lots more work to do here in Wicklow in order to create more local jobs, but I am pleased to see that we are clearly going about this in the right way,” concluded Minister Harris.
