If this is Greystones’ idea of a diving board, perhaps we should rechristen this particular seaside attraction The Long Mile.
With the sea retreating ever-further, and the sand claiming more and more land, The Men’s has changed considerably over the last year or so.
To the point that warning signs about imminent danger should one dive from here might need to be changed. From rocks just below the water to, hey, no water whatsoever.
Unless you’re Usain Bolt, no amount of running along this little catwalk is going to finish with a splash.
It’s going to finish with a thud. And the sound of an ambulance making its way over Bray Head.
So, perhaps it’s time to change those danger signs to something a little more reflective of what’s really in store for you down at The Men’s these days.
