With September having somehow decided that this autumn’s colour is going to be threatening grey, a little ray of sunshine in your day is all the more wonderful.
And that’s exactly what GG got when we headed over to talk to Dr Anna Foy this afternoon at the groovy new Greystones clinics she and long-time buddy Dr. Peter Kelly have just opened.
Having delivered our usual joke demand of champagne and almond croissants to be awaiting GG, lo agus behold, Anna had gone one better, with an Americano and a chocolate croissant.
Boom! This grey Monday just got a shot of sun. A chocolate-filled shot of sun, at that.
It’s easy to see that, despite being a young mum deprived of a full night’s sleep for the last six months, Anna Foy is one happy camper. Having grown up in Hillside, it was working at reception in The Carrig Clinic in Heathervue that made the young Anna realise how important a good doctor is to a community. The fact that the clinic in question was started by her father, Dr Pat Foy, may have had something to do with that good feeling too, of course.
Moving back to Greystones two years ago with her husband, Mark, and being busy being mum to little Anne whilst opening up the plainly-named Greystones Family Doctors with her old university and college buddy… well, it’s all a bit perfect circle of life, right? But, in a very good way.
Young Peter couldn’t be here today, as he and the missus just left on their honeymoon, proving that the two Greystones Family Doctors truly believe in not only the Greystones part and that whole helping the sick thing, but, hey, in family too.
You can find out more about Greystones Family Doctors right about here. In the meantime, here’s Anna to tell you a bit more about how it all came together so perfectly…
