It has taken us over a year to find the photographer responsible for
one of our favourite shots of Greystones
[left] in recent years.
And the reason for that is, like many a great photographer, David Hoctor doesn’t like to be at the other end of the camera lens.
When we finally tracked the man down, and suggested we do a
cover story interview, young David was flattered but emphatic – nope, he’d rather stay in the shadows, being the one who’s doing the snapping.
The above shot first popped up on the website for Pippins Parkinson’s Slievemore B&B, and it has become something of a favourite ever since we posted it, with everyone from the Marina Village gang to Malachy Mulligan emailing us to try and find out the photographer’s name.
Turns out, taking these stunning aerial shots of Greystones is just a hobby for David Hoctor. Well, given the beauty of his work, it’s a hobby that the lad could no doubt turn into a profession at the click of a shutter…
Still, wonder just how high David was when he took these beauties…
