As far as good starts go, it would be hard to beat last Sunday’s Family Fun Day at the GAA Grounds.
Organised by the Greystones South Beach Playground committee as the launch pad for their campaign to build a bigger, better, stronger, cooler playground for our kids, the sun split the sky, the townfolk came out in their thousands, and a grand old time was had by all.
If you need proof, we have the pics here. And here. Oh, and the video chat here.
It’s just the beginning, but such a response from the good people of Greystones has been incredibly heartening for those on the committee.
We caught up with just two of these fine, upstanding citizens, Niamh Egan and Jennifer Whitmore, to talk about that wonderful day, and also the cunning plans the South Beach Playground committee have lined up over the coming weeks.
Anyone who’d like to get involved in the fundraising can email greystonesplayground@gmail.com, or visit their main website here, or their Facebook page here.
The interview is in two parts. Mainly because Whitmore is a hippy.
