New press release from Simon Harris TD, issued on Saturday, July 4th 2020…
Wicklow Minister Simon Harris TD congratulated Jigsaw on finally securing an appropriate premises in Bray.
Jigsaw is a network of programmes across Ireland designed to make sure every young person has somewhere to turn to and someone to talk to. It supports young people based on best international practice and is aligned with A Vision for Change
Minister Harris said: “This is a fantastic and vital resource for young people in North Wicklow. I have visited Jigsaw projects in other locations and I each time I have been blown away by their success and the level of youth buy-in.
Jigsaw will shortly begin recruitment and induction of the staff team required to support their new Wicklow service. Alongside the clinical, in-session work with young people, Jigsaw teams locally will work closely with schools, community groups, sports clubs and other local services to increase understanding about youth mental health, and where support is available to young people.
“This comes at a crucial time given the challenges students and their families have faced over the last few months due to the lockdown. Mental health services such as those provided by Jigsaw are now needed more than ever.”
