There’s no question that local KBC staffers Dan and Rowan are going to be building up a much larger sweat this afternoon than they had originally envisaged as they help complete a 60-hour non-stop, cross-country, charity marathon.
A mammoth undertaking – which kicked off in Galway on Friday, and is due to end in Dublin at 6pm today – all the money raised is for The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
The fact that the staff’s €35,000 raised is being matched by the bank means the ASI will be getting €70,000-worth of TLC from KBC.
Nice.
Going under the witty title of Hub2Hub, the idea is a smart one, with 75 runners cover 600 in 10km relays as they play tag with each of the bank’s 15 branches around the country.
Part of KBC Bank Ireland choosing The Alzheimer Society of Ireland as their Charity Of The Year, this three-day marathon started at Galway’s Eyre Square at 6am on Friday and is due to finish at Dublin’s Sandwith Street at 6pm today.
