There were, of course, quite a few shy artists in among all the stall holders at the final Greystones Art & Photography Exhibition of 2017.
Or maybe they were just hiding from social welfare…?
Either way, we thought it would be nice to swing down and catch the last hurrah for a summer event that is fast becoming a firm annual favourite in the town.
There were familiar faces – the great Anna O’Rourke, ringleader Jody Connaughton, Liz Avery’s naughty sister – along with, surprisingly, quite a lot of new faces.
One of GG’s quick favourites was Paola Sanjinez, passing through from Bolivia on her way around the world, and happy to check out our sunny little town. You can check out this sunny little artist’s work on Facebook right about here.
The one thing that will strike you as you take a stroll around GRAPE is that this is clearly a labour of love for those displaying their wares. So, next time you’re looking for something a little different, original and off the menu, make the effort to buy a piece by one of our local crafters, painters and photographers.
You’ll find more over in The Boat Yard Gallery across the road, as Jody and co. take a break, and plenty of other spots around town too. It’ll make a little difference to your shopping habits, and a big, big difference to your local layabout artist hippy…
