Delgany Greenway Feasibility Study Begins
November 21, 2020Alison’s On De Telly! Again!
November 22, 2020

Given the kind of year 2020 has been so far,
perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised that it worked its tragic on the
Greystones Christmas Lights ceremony too.
So much preparation, so much hard work, and so many treats lined up for the one-hour live broadcast
online, and then…
And then, technology buckled, the humungous number of Greystonians logging on – not only in de town but all around the world – crashing the greystones.ie live feed.
Not that the kids who had come out with their parents to watch the ceremony from afar were all
that bothered, of course, the magic far outweighing the tragic on a night like this.
Thanks to the sterling work once again of Troy Gillet – the best
electrician a man can get – at the stroke of 6pm, that switch flipped, and sparked enough sparkle for Greystones to be visible from the
moon.
You’re welcome, SpaceX.
For those in need of more Yuletide yumminess, you can still indulge in the all-star, all-glittering video that should have lit
up the interweb on the big night right about here.
And as we pull together our guide to shopping local this Christmas, go check out our A-Z of all de shops in town here.
In the meantime, our elf on the ground, John McGowan, captured some of the magic as Greystones kids young and old lit up with the spirit of Christmas…

You can check out John’s full gallery in hi-res here, and then jump back through Greystones Christmas Lights ceremonies of yore right here.
