his time last year, Sinead Connolly was proving herself to be Charlesland’s #1 comeback kid.

Having been driven close to the edge of losing her mind and her 17-year hairdressers by a see-you-in-court landlord, another unit becoming available changed the game.

And here we are, Sinead and the gang celebrating their first year in their new home.

And the lady couldn’t be happier.

“This all came together so quickly, I didn’t really have time to think about how and if it would work,” says Sinead this afternoon, somehow resisting the Divine Foodie cake right by her side. “Everything was just so last-minute, including getting the lights in, getting the equipment moved, in retrospect, it might have been a blessing.

“We were just so busy, and so happy, getting to fresh start in a brand new space, there was no time to worry about anything other than making sure every customer walking through our door walked out happy…”

And so it has proven to be, with Sin É Hair & Beauty busier than they’ve ever been over the past 18 years.

“It’s all down to the community here,” says Sinead. “They’ve been amazing to us. And then there’s my wonderful co-workers too, and all our wonderful neighbours here in the centre.

“It really is like a family…”
