It’s that time of year again when the loveable, huggable Greystones Cancer Support gang have their truly super Super Draw.
And this year, hey, they’ve excelled themselves, with the sort of prizes you’d happily fork over a fiver to win.
Which is handy, given that’s just how much a book of three strips cost. Or you can be tightfisted, and just buy a single strip for €2.
Chief among the prizes this year, as always, is the €1,000 spending voucher from Daly’s SuperValu, whilst also up for grabs are six bottles of Moet, a two-hour flying lesson over at Newcastle Aerodrome, afternoon tea at Powerscourt Hotel, brunch for four at The Pigeon House, fourball from Delgany Golf Club, a dashcam from Redwood IT and a bucket of home heating oil from Glen Fuels.
Or maybe two buckets. It doesn’t say.
There’s also the little matter of the gang’s Gala Charity Night at The Whale on Saturday, November 9th, when Dry Rain’s Lorraine O’Brien leads a travelling troupe of fellow chancers and dancers through their Alive Alive O songs and stories journey down memory lane.
You can grab your tickets for that groovy showhere, and grab your Super Draw tickets all over town – including Fiona Roche’s pharmacy in Blacklion, McCauley’s on the main street, Des Doyle Butchers at Tesco’s and, of course, the GCS HQ on La Touche Place, open Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm.
Over in Kilcoole, you can grab ’em at the post office, The Bread Basket, Mary McSharry Pharmacy and Marie Kelly’s.
You can also catch the GCS gang on tour, hitting Tesco Kilcoole on October 4th, Centra Kilcoole on the 11th, SuperValu Greystones on the 24th, 25th and 26th, Dunnes Stores in Newtown on the 25th and 26th, and, finally, Tesco Greystones on November 7th, 8th and 9th.
In the meantime, we caught up with the mighty Kathleen Kelleher down at The Whale this afternoon, where this year’s GCS Super Draw got its official launch…
