That Was The Year That WasDecember 31, 2018
It was last April when we posted about a little local girl who had just been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.
Friends had rallied around to show their love and support to the six-year-old and her family, determined to help Lucy Lu cherish each and every day.
And, more important, to be cherished each and every day.
With a gofundme page set up by family friend Grainne Flavin, over €35,000 was raised to help Lucy Lu’s Dreams come true.
Sadly, early this morning, and surrounded by her loving family, Lucy Lu passed away.
Granddaughter of the late Nanny Marion and Nanny Kathleen, Lucy Lu is remembered with love by her parents, Catherine and Marc, big brother Ryan, granddads Albert Leahy and Frank Slevin, her aunts and uncles, and her cousins, Liam, Sean, Richard, Gareth, Charlotte, Naoise and Sara. Lucy Lou is remembered too by her teachers, classmates and friends in St Brigid’s Primary School, and all her little friends.
Safe journey, Lucy Lou. And may all your dreams come true…
Lucy will rest at home on Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm (house private outside of these times, please). Funeral mass in celebration of Lucy’s life will take place at 12 noon on Friday, January 11th in the Holy Rosary Church, followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium at 3pm.
