e’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Greystones has got far more than its fair share of great photographers.
Each and every day for the last seven years, we’ve been posting and celebrating incredible shots by Brian Keeley, Liz Cusack, John McGowan, Chris Dobson, Jack Clarke and beyond.
And then there’s our annual end-of-year Greystones Rocks photography competition, which always throws up some true gems.
Despite all those incredible shots over all those years, when Phil McDarby sent us some of his breaking dawn shots in January this year – both up in the surrounding mountains and woods and right down in the sun-kissed waves of the South Beach – we were well and truly gobsmacked.
Just as with Brian Keeley, Phil knows it’s all about the perfect moment. No matter how long it takes.
Or how early you have to get up to catch it.
With much of his incredible work now available to buy – you can view Phil’s daily-updated A Daily Forest site here – we thought it might be time we actually met the man behind the camera.
As an extra-added bonus, we’ve included five of Phil’s personal favourites below our ramble chat – just so you know what kind of genius you’re dealing with here…Â
You can view Phil McDarby’s work right about here, and get in touch directly on philmcdarby@yahoo.com.
