Those crazy feckers over at the Newcastle Parish Youth Group are hosting a colourful fun run to help raise funds for the village community centre.
And it’s definitely going to be colourful, given that each participant will receive a free bag of Holi Powder on the day.
Normally used as part of an ancient Hindu festival, this explosion of colour is not only a spiritual expression but also, of course, a whole lot of fun.
Happening on Saturday, June 15th, from noon to 2pm, here’s the official lowdown…
Come along to the inaugural Newcastle Village Fun Colour Run and celebrate the beginning of summer in colourful style as well as raise much needed funds for the Parish of Newcastle & Newtownmountkennedy and the Newcastle Community Centre.

It’s a family friendly 1km or 2km course and you can walk, skip or run- the choice is yours! We strongly suggest that participants wear old clothes and sunglasses – the whiter the better, to appreciate the full colours that will be on display.
Each participant will receive a free bag of Holi Powder on the day and there will be lots more available for spectators to buy just in case they think that you are not colourful enough.
Tickets are €8 for kids, €10 for adults, or you can grab a Family Of Four ticket for €30, all on eventbrite right about here.
