Emergency repair works to restore support to a road bridge which has collapsed will mean the closure of Newtown Road for from Monday, July 29th.
The works are due to finish approximately four weeks later, on Friday, August 21st.
It was hard initially to tell exactly where this mysterious L-1019 Newtown Road is situated, given that Google Maps has never heard of it, but we managed to pin it down to the one above, cutting past the Powerscourt Hotel, snaking alongside the Dargle River.
Here’s the WCC info…
West bound traffic from Glencormack will be diverted via L-1001, Kilcroney Lane; the N11; the R117, Bray Road, Enniskerry and R760, Tinnahinch Road.
East bound traffic from Ballyorney will be diverted via the R760, Tinnahinch Road; R117, Bray Road, Enniskerry; the N11 to junction 6; the N11 to junction 7 and the L-1001, Kilcroney Lane.
If these are roads you normally use, you’ll know where the road works are happening too. Either way, happy travails.
