Minister of State Andrew Doyle has received confirmation from the Department of Education confirming that the tender deadlines for the new school building for Greystones Community National School is complete. Minister Doyle said: “This is great news for the school, it is estimated that students and teachers will be able to move into their state of the art school in Charlesland, Greystones by September 2019.
“The tenders will now be examined by department officials and this process will take approximately 8 weeks. It is anticipated that the construction will commence in the autumn and the project is due for completion in September 2019.
“We are investing more in education than ever before to help us deliver on this ambition – over €10 billion in 2018, the biggest ever budget for education. Our capital budget has increased by 56% since 2012 and we are seeing the benefits of this across the county.
“I will continue to work with the parents and staff of the school to ensure the timely completion of this project,” the Fine Gael Minister said.
