e may be one of the finest photographers Greystones has to offer, but John McGowan is a hard man to catch on camera.
That’s because he’s not only a generous, giving kind of fella, but he’s also kind a shy.
So, we’re sure he won’t mind his good friend GG letting the whole town know that it’s his birthday today.
Hard to believe, but John is 65 today. Or is he 66? Either way, he doesn’t look a day over 64. And a half.
Add to that his beautiful young wife, Kathryn, turning, ooh, 30-ish last month, and you’ve got two big reasons to wish the McGowan clan well.
It’s John who goes out of his way to cover all the worthy events around the town, from cake sales to fun days, from Strictly From The Movies to the latest world record-breaker from The Caroline Foundation.
And the important thing to remember is, John does thisall for free. Mainly because, yep, that’s the kind of guy he is. But it’s also because the Guide has no feckin’ money, thanks to so many businesses in the town being tightfisted fecks.
But, hey, we digress…
Here’s to you, John McGowan. The Guide wouldn’t be the Guide without you.
And Greystones wouldn’t be Greystones without John McGowan either.
