Well, Greystones won’t be the same without them, and that’s for sure.
The chips will be very much down at Pineto Classico come September 22nd, and Fiore, Anna and the family shut up shop for the very last time.
The rumours of a possible move were there when wespoke with Fioreand his daughter, Bruna, back in May 2016, and today, sadly, those rumours have come true.
Here’s a statement from Bruna and her hubby, Dario, issued this evening…
After 22 amazing year in Greystones, Dario and myself have decided it’s time for a bit of a change.
Yes, the rumours are true, we will be closing our doors for the last time on the 22nd of September. We have thought long and hard before making this decision, but as Elvis once sang, ‘it’s now or never’ (Dario is rolling his eyes at me).
I honestly can’t put in to words the emotions we’re all feeling but we want to take the opportunity to say the biggest THANK YOU to everyone who has crossed our door for their custom, but more so their amazing friendship. There is no banter like chipper banter.
(I did try to post a video but I couldn’t keep it together long enough).
Also, Mum and Dad (Anna and Fiore) will be popping in on the 22nd for the last fry up.
Obviously, you’re all still gonna see us around Greystones as after all this is our home.
So, everybody down to Pineto’s on Saturday, September 22nd, for a great big fry-up, and a great big goodbye to the Vecchio family. In the meantime, you can check out our video chat with Greystones’ answer to Tony Bennett (sorry, Fiore!) right abouthere. And if you feel like taking over the place, check here.
