Greystones Rocks 2018 Has Its WinnersJanuary 3, 2019
Didn’t He Do Well…?January 4, 2019
So, it was over a week ago that we got in touch with all the fine eateries around these here parts to find out what they might have in store for Valentine’s Day.
Naturally, only half of the feckers have managed to get their act together over the last seven days.
So, for now, here’s what we know is going down for the town’s big love-in, with goodies galore for not only those annoying, happy loving couples but for those independent and iron-willed individuals who don’t actually need someone else to remind them that they’re wonderful.
Still, remember, this is all about being with someone you love – someone you want to hang out with for the night. And that doesn’t have to be one of those life partner thingys. That said, we checked with the restaurants and venues around town, and they were pretty adamant – no pets. Even if they are your one true life partner.
We’ll be adding more and more options to our Valentine’s guide as the big day approaches. So, you know, don’t forget to come back, y’all!
If you’re thinking of going the classic Valentine route, young Andrew at Cottage Flowers in Killincarrig can put together a unique, tailor-made bouquet that will tell the one you love that, hey, you do actually care.
The cool thing is, a good bunch of flowers will last days and days. So, you only have to nod in their direction to remind your loved one that, yep, you do actually care.
Our shiny new theatre has something for everyone over the Valentine’s weekend, including a big night out for lovers, brothers, sisters, muckers, mates, and nutters – some fine Italian cuisine in Bear Paw followed by a big-screen outing for a very fine Martin Scorses movie, Goodfellas, downstairs. Feck, YEAH!
The following night, it’s Two Divas & A Piano, as fallen angels Flo McSweeney and Carmel McCreagh explore the classic love songs of the past 100 years with a little help from that old devil called Fiachra Trench. Are you ready to be heartbroken…?
Yep, the Horse are getting all smoochy for Valentine’s, with not only the obligatory free glass of prosecco on the big night, but also a rose for the ladies – or the lads. Your choice, baby. Or buddy. Either way, The Bellevue Restaurant will make your night special.
Just for this coming weekend, we’re introducing Camile’s much-loved Red Curry to Greystones. For those looking for a hot date. There’s also a €69 special – fittingly enough – which gets you 2 starters, 2 mains, Valentine’s brownie and a bottle of prosecco!
Grab a savoury galette, and get your dessert at half-price!
Book your Valentine’s date at FourFront Games Escape Rooms and get locked in a room for an hour with your beloved. Hey, it’s cheaper than a hotel. Book your tight spot right about here. It could be your last chance to dance with this little devil.
Lots of new fashions to delight the woman in your life, says Anne, including a whole new range of labels to mark the move to their new premises (beside The Happy Pear), as well as Fabulous Freddy jeans and funky jewellery, to add those finishing touches. And we’re all partial to finishing touches. Especially on Valentine’s.
Pints. And shandy for the ladies.
Ditto. Oh, and Mr. Loverman himself, Leo O’Kelly.

We’ll be lighting all the candles and Nag Champa we can find, dimming the lights, and letting all that love just flow. And the best way to your loved one’s heart…?
Through their tummy, of course, and we have a yummy menu lined up, our special Valentine’s Night three-course menu also coming with a choice of our traditional Pakistani dessert Gulaab Jamun (served with vanilla ice cream, pistachio & coconut) or, for the naughty, A Bit Of Love cocktail, comprising of Tanqueray gin, lychee liqeur, fresh lemon & raspberry. For two lovebirds, the entire Valentine’s Night special is just €80. You can check out the full menu right about here.
The real way to your lover’s heart is through chocolate! We have a selection of luxury Belgian chocolates to choose from, sweet Valentine’s hampers, and the best kind of roses – one’s you don’t have to water.
