s 85th birthday presents go, getting your very first tattoo must be one of the coolest.
And, let’s be honest here, craziest.
But then, Delgany’s Rita Fitzpatrick had a very good reason for getting a little love heart inked on her left shoulder.
Not only would it match the little love heart inked on the left shoulder of her daughter and granddaughter – Sam and Hazel Donohoe – but it would also raise funds for the JC Foundation, the Irish mental health promoters.
Launched in 2021, the annual tattoo drive saw queues out the door last year for both of The Ink Factory’s Dublin outlets, at 15 Wellington Quay and 19 Parliament Street. For this special day, 15 volunteer tattoos spent 8 hours tattooing love hearts on happy participants, who knew that the €50 donation to the foundation would help them reach their goal of €20,000.
That golden amount meaning JC Foundation could deliver 365 free therapy sessions for young adults.
