For just about every Kilcoole kid, it’s the highlight of the Christmas season…
The hardest working man in snow business, Santa, takes a horse-drawn carraige ride around the town, taking the time to visit every single house in the town.
And say hello to every single kid.
Organised by those lovely people at Kilcoole Thrift Shop, the horse-drawn sleigh took its sweet time, as it went from house to house, from kid to kid.
And all along the way, happy Kilcoolers lined the streets, smiling and waving, and looking so fine.
The meetings and greetings didn’t stop until way past Santa’s bedtime – that’s how dedicated this Mr Claus chap is.
And before all the fun got underway, those beautiful Thrift Shop ladies had a few cheques to hand out – €3,000 each to WH Five Loaves, Ark Housing, You’re Not Alone and RNLI, plus €2,000 each to Tiglin, Mountain Rescue and Bray Women’s Refuge. Which brings the overall charitable donations by Kilcoole Thrift Shop to a staggering €228,972.81. Be. The. Holy.
There to capture all the magic of the big day was the bould Gerry Kelly, one of Santa’s little helpers for the evening.
You can catch his full gallery of Gerry’s shots from the day right here, and join Santa on his tour last year, andback in 2016…
