f not quite a winter wonderland, the recent cold spell has brought enough snow and ice to the Wicklow Hills for the gardaí to warn people to stay the feck away.
According to both the gardaí and Wicklow County Council, driving conditions in the area are extremely hazardous, and the Sally Gap impassable.
Temperatures in the Uplands are expected to hit -7 tonight, with widespread severe frost and ice expected. Scattered wintry showers of hail, sleet or snow will affect mainly eastern and southern parts of the province.
Wednesday looks pretty damn cold too, as the frost and ice slowly clears.
Basically, if you can, stay home. For your health, and everyone else’s.
In the meantime, go check some fine aerial footage from February 2017, shot over the snowy Wicklow Hills by Skycam Ireland.
