Your Greystones WeekFebruary 24, 2019
The good folk at Greystones Library have lined up three rather fine spring and summer talks to help us all appreciate Mother Nature that little bit more.
From beekeeping to the joy of birdsong, from Ireland’s vanishing nature to… well, that’s it actually.
Just the three talks. Shouldn’t have started the sentence that way.
On Tuesday, April 9th, Irish Wildlife Trust campaign officer Pádraic Fogarty will return to discuss his book, Whittled Away: Ireland’s Vanishing Nature, the talk taking place from 7pm to 8pm. On Tuesday, April 23rd, and running at the same time, Mary Montaut from the Federation Of Irish Beekeeping Assocation will give an introductory talk for those interested in entering the strangely relaxing world of beekeeping, as well as those simply interested in nature, wildlife and gardening.
Rounding out the talks will be author and birdwatcher Declan Murphy, flying in on Saturday, April 27th for a talk on birdsong and how to identify the singer. A regular on RTE’s Mooney Goes Wild and Joe Duffy’s Liveline, you can catch Declan in full flight of fancy between 11am and 12 noon.
All talks are free, so, booking is advised. Just email email@example.com or call 012873548.
