reminder of a time before The Church of The Happy Pear became the new religion in Greystones, Good Friday saw the believers out on Church Road this afternoon, singing God’s praises.
Today being a religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary, this annual mass and procession is still a big part of many people’s lives in Ireland.
And there was something comforting about the sight of a group of Greystonians coming together and stopping the traffic for a celebration of their faith.
There may not have been quite as many people out on Church Road today as there were queuing at the off-licenses yesterday, but, given that the church in this country is on its knees, their free-range Stations Of The Cross was strangely moving…
