And the lads are more than ready to rock and roll out the fresh,
“We’ve been very lucky with the weather this year,” says Dermot, “the crops have been amazing.

The O’Brien’s with the fruit of their labours
ith the first crop of perfectly ripe strawberries now ready
to be devoured, the O’Brien brothers over at Knockroe Fruit Farm have a busy summer ahead of them.
And the lads are more than ready to rock and roll out the fresh,
homegrown treats, thanks to a packed farm shop and oodles of outdoor seating.
And alongside those fresh, homegrown treats (the three acres of spuds are also ready to be dug up), sure isn’t there ice cream and drinks aplenty too.
Just to make sure you get that perfect summer’s day feeling.
With four great big tunnels of strawberries up and gunning, Dermot and Owen will be filling up those punnets – at €6 a pop – every single morning, as the farm shop on the Kilcoole road opens seven days a week.
“We’ve been very lucky with the weather this year,” says Dermot, “the crops have been amazing.
We’ll be adding more tunnels next year, but for now, there are plenty of strawberries to go round. And they couldn’t be more local either…”
Take that, Wexford!
From May 4th, the lads will be open every day from 10am to 6pm, and you can find out more about the Knockroe Fruit Farm on Facebook here, or get in touch for more info on 0863331779.
