The initial plans for Stylebawn House MAR22
t would appear to be the right time for Delgany Community Council to address the potential impact
of the planned Stylebawn House development.
Especially given that this is the week that the Ronan Group Real Estate have put out their side of the argument.
Currently with an application for 141 housing units on the 16th century former coach house gardens right in the middle of the village, the Ronan spokesperson stated that the site plans has been ‘carefully designed to high quality specifications and taking into account of its surroundings‘, and ‘will seamlessly integrate into the well-established community in Delgany’.
Ah, Jaysus, that’s lovely…

The battle for Stylebawn begins………..
I had the pleasure of living in Stylebawn Lodge many moons ago, my wonderful Dad John Murphy was the main gardener for over 40 year’s there. I have so many amazing magical memories of Stylebawn, the wildlife the flowers the apple trees and the big hill to roll down on!! I am horrified to think that all these houses and apartments could be built on this historic land. My Dad would definitely not be impressed! It is a sorry site to see how it is today and all the hard work and dedication that went into such a beautiful place is now just sitting there longing to be brought back to life again but not by destroying the landscape or putting a concrete jungle in!!
For the community of Delgany I do hope it works out in their favour. The heritage of Delgany village needs to be saved!!
