There was bubbly agus wobbly aplenty on a secret Wicklow location today, as this year’s Strip & Dip set its sights on a new Guinness record.
Kickstarted by the bould Deirdre Featherstone five years ago, with the self-explanatory title of Kicking The Shite Out Of Cancer, this annual get-together of bare naked ladies has already become something of a Wicklow tradition.
And today, that tradition made history, as a staggering 5,025 brave and boisterous women stripped down to their smiles, and hit that cold Irish Sea on a blissfully blisteringly hot summer’s day.
BUM!Â
Big congrats to everyone who took part, but, in particular, Deirdre and the rest of the wibbly-wobbly wonders behind today’s wonderful event.
Not only does this annual Strip & Dip raise awareness of the many battles fought against that little bastard called cancer, but it also raised some much-needed moolah for the Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, the fundraising cancer charity founded in 2010 by Jimmy Norman for his late and beloved little girl.
