It’s such a simple, smart idea, we’re amazed the Guide didn’t think of it first…
With the fundraising for the new South Beach playground well underway, the latest fun opportunity for Greystones people to get involved is to have their names living on forever. And a bit.
It’s all down to a fine big banner spelling out PLAYGROUND down at the new top-of-the-range, state-of-the-art mecca for little messers, with spaces on each letter for names to be included.
We actually managed to see the early draft of the plans this morning, down at Tesco, as Jennifer Whitmore and Ruth Farrell (with young Lorcan lending a hand) set up shop – and, holy, it’s a doozy, with zip wires, a wonky playhouse, sandpits with all sorts of pulley shenanigans, and a ton of cool wheelchair accessible fun and games too.
The cost of getting your name – or the name of a loved little one – up on the playground sign is just €40, with two names going together for €60. If you’ve got a humongous family, might be best just to go with The Waltons.
We caught up with Jennifer early this morning at Tesco, to find out a little more. The guys will be there all day today and tomorrow, as well as Shoreline tomorrow too, if you want to swing own and see those plans, and checking out the name game. Oh, and Whitmore, we’re not childish, YOU ARE!!
